My Year In Grade Five...
My year in Grade Five helped me a lot in growth and learning. Two years ago I used to study in a small school in Brazil; but when I moved, I knew CAC was different, it looked big and fun and anything you might ask for. The school helped me with a lot of things that my other school would not be able to do. In grade five; I experienced a lot of fun things while learning, and my teacher, Mrs. Kasal was the best, she is super kind and funny and she taught my classmates and I in the best way possible, Grade five was the best!
Reading...
In reading, I can say that I developed a LOT. In fourth grade, it was hard for me to read for a long time and stay focused, but during grade five I developed a lot and now I am able to read and focus for hours. Mrs. Kasal is always teaching and helping us in case we are stuck somewhere, and classmates can help each other with the work, I guess that's why Mrs. Kasal most of the time lets us work in groups.
Writing...
In writing, I developed in my grammar, the way I write; and I learned new methods and new vocabulary. During grade five I had a lot of fun writing fantasy, informational, narrative and other topics. Mrs. Kasal is always teaching us new methods and always keeping us awake being funny and kind; writing can be really annoying sometimes, but we always have fun learning so we always have fun writing.
Math...
Math is something I really improved on. In grade four I was average in mathematics; but now I got the third best score in M.A.P tests, but that was only possible because Mrs. Kasal taught us and helped us in the best way possible; even though we had the annoying Eureka Math, this year math was really fun
Science...
In my opinion I think that science was really fun this year, we learned a lot and did a lot of fun things in the science lab. My favorite thing in science this year was the adaptation unit; it was so fun and we got to learn more about animal's and plant's adaptations, we even did a science fair based on it; We had partners, my partner was Pranay and we chose our project to be about the Arctic Tundra.
Social Studies...
In social studies I had a lot of fun learning about the aztecs and the history of the U.S, I did not know about many ancient civilizations, but during this year I got to learn a lot of things about one of them and in grade six I will learn more.
Citizenship...
I do not know what citizenship means, but I think it means being a good friend, classmate and student; if it is I improved a lot on it, because this year I made really special friends, they were: Nico, Ian, Pranay, and Momo.
Most Challenging...
The most challenging part of grade five, in my opinion was when we had to work together in the grade five thing in the beginning of the year, it was so challenging, but it was really fun, and when we played baboomba, my team lost, but I had a lot of fun.
Most Enjoyable...
The most enjoyable part of grade five was the way 5K learned together, always having fun and
playing and all the other fun things
Most Proud Of...
I am most proud of 5K because we had a lot of fun together and we accepted to learn together, we became great friends.
Most Growth...
I grew a lot in all subjects and categories, but most of all I grew in friendship, I made a lot of friends; best friends.
Parent responses...
1. I see it as growing a lot, failing many times but never giving up, always going, improving, and finally mastering something.
2. I had a lot of fun in the thing that we did in the beginning of the year (unity day), where we did a lot of activities that required a lot of teamwork and, and I struggled a lot in multiple projects, sometimes there was not enough information, sometimes it was not valid information etc. etc.
3. I think I could improve a lot in handing assignments in time, because sometimes I forget to turn them in or I get them late, so that's something I need to improve.
Evidence...
Show Goal Sheets.
This year I showed initiative when I convinced my friends to do something.
